You may have used online press releases before to market your products, or give exposure to your offers. If so, you will know that if done correctly, it can be one of the most cost effective advertising methods around. There is an additional benefit to press releases that is often overlooked – Backlinks!
Yes, that’s right backlinks. When you construct your press release hopefully you are already creating at least one link to your website in the content. After all the main object of the press release is to gain exposure and pull in traffic to your website. Well make sure that link has anchor text with the keyword/s you want to rank for. Next get your press release exposed using the right service – A Premium Account at PRWeb.com
You are going to be spending $360 for a premium release, so don’t go out and do this, if you have never written a press release before. Instead get a bit of practise in with some free services first. Sure you won’t get the same results, but the objective of the exercise is to gain experience, so you won’t be taking a chance with your cash.
Some free services I recommend;
BigNews
WebNewsWire
FreePressIndex
FreePressRelease
Release News
Jazzou
Using a premium account at PRWeb you will quickly start gaining backlinks to your website through the many instances of your press release being published on numerous places across the net. Autobloggers alone can be responsible for earning you a hundred or more links. High pagerank authority sites can be linking back to you pretty quickly. How many links you gain and their quality is largely down to the popularity of the content of your press release. High Standard = High Results – Low Standard = Low Results.
If a $360 price tag per press release is a little high for your budget, then don’t write off the idea of using the free press release websites above. While I may find the option of using PRWeb quick and convenient, I have to say that I have had great success with the free ones in the past. Lots of links gained, albeit a bit inconsistent. However, I have even ended up with quite a few releases to the free sites ending up on Google News. Which is always nice for a traffic boost.
