You have to be a tester if you want to succeed online. More importantly, you have to be a person who realizes that we never know everything in life. We are always learning. We have come to realize that the more we test and the more we see test results whether they are negative or positive that we are constantly learning about how to do business online.

Hopefully, you have seen my post on “You have to spend money to make money” In the past, I have used many different forms of testing and tracking software that I paid lots of money for and have always had great results therefore justifying the expense.

In comes Google Analytics that is probably the best software I have ever gotten for my testing and guess what, IT’S FREE. Google Analytics analyzes your web site traffic and conversions. In turn you will make better decisions on what to do which in turns means…you guessed it….Mo Money, Mo Money, Mo Money…

You know me by now and I don’t like to use the fancy words that most Guru’s use. So I will just say that built into the analytics is an additional, and slightly more advanced tool called Optimizer. This tool (optimizer) lets you test multiple factors on the same web page at the same time. (Geeks like Dave S. call this multivariate testing)

Here is an example of what you can do with Google Analytics. Keep in mind that I am not a patient guy and don’t really have the brains to figure a whole bunch of things out (That’s David S’ job). I can test three headlines, two subhead lines and whether to use a video or not, all at the same time. Analytics will keep track of which version of the sales letter it is showing AND to which visitor, but even greater than that which visitor is buying and from which version of the page they bought from. “Show me the money Baby”

Google Analytics will take you a bit of time to manage but some of the results I am getting are directly because of the things I am testing. David S. claims that he has almost doubled is opt-in rate on most of his sites…

When you think that on an average site, the optimizer will raise your conversion rate by about 1% that alone is worth the price of admission which again is FREE. KACHING

The real beauty for big dummies like me is that it’s not hard to use. Google spent a lot of time making the instructions clear. They even have a built in test to make sure you set up your page correctly. GO GOOGLE GO!!
