After reading Fred’s earlier post, I just had to ask him for a copy of that email he received. After reading it, I have to admit I would be pretty pi$$ed myself at the guy who sent it.
Thing is what Fred does not mention in his article, is the fact that he sends out all sorts of advice and tips to all new clients after every purchase. He is not the kind of guy that just closes the deal and then vanishes. Every new client gets the opportunity to use his strategies [well their actually mostly my strategies, but we will save that one for another day] for free, to ensure they get off to the right start. He tries to make sure everyone understands that you have to put in the effort, before you will see the rewards.
To come back at him a few days later and complain that he has not made any money yet is just plain crazy. But all said and done, I can still actually see where this guy is coming from. Now, don’t get me wrong, I do not agree with him, I just understand why he may be thinking the way he does.
If you are into almost any form of internet marketing, how many sales pages, marketing emails, special offers, and opportunities are you subjected to on a daily basis? Let’s face it you get bombarded with it constantly. The end result is what I like to call realism blindness. You have heard of banner blindness or adsense blindness right? OK, some newbies may not have heard of those terms, so let me explain quickly. Quite a few years ago banners were pretty new and they became the hottest advertising tool around. Not before too long of course everyone got used to all the banner ads and became blind to what they were offering. The end result being that hardly anyone clicks on the darn things anymore. Same happened with Adsense. It was new for a while, just like Adwords. Then as people get used to it, they click on the ads less and less. Well realism blindness is pretty similar. It works like this………..
You get used to seeing so many damn offers for all kinds of products that you become blind to being realistic about the opportunity they really represent and what efforts are required to make the opportunity work for you. Instead you see only what the promised results are. Too often we are encouraged to believe that little or no effort is required to make money online. Just about every internet marketing guru out there is trying to sell you the next “Magic Bullet” that simply does not exists. That does not mean that the product they are selling you is no good. It just means that it takes one hell of a lot more effort that you realized to make it actually happen.
In my eyes this guy is simply suffering from realism blindness. He simply sees the end result and expects it to happen. He has most likely never even noticed any of the real advice and marketing strategies given with his site. He simply sees the fact he has paid for a product and service and expects to see immediate results without any effort on his behalf.
Knowing Fred, if he does not hear back from him within the week, he will end up refunding him and advising him where he is going wrong. Trouble is, this guy will then just move on to what he considers to be the next magic bullet and sit back again.
Don’t fall into that trap. It is nothing more than a one way street to failure. Over 15 years of hands on experience tells me there are no real magic bullets in internet marketing. No, not even the guys who sell them can consider what they have as being magic bullets. They had to spend plenty cash and effort to come up with their product in the first place. As well as marketing it effectively, before anyone started buying into it. Before you buy into any internet marketing product, think like a true internet marketer – DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST.
Research is key to absolutely anything in business and no more so than internet marketing. Get to know what the product can do for you and more importantly what you have to do to get the most out of the product. Go in with realism blindness and you could end up with exactly what you deserve – Nothing!
