I have always been one for experimenting with strategy combinations for promoting my products and affiliate offers. One of my favorite ones is my Offline Tear Away Report Strategy. This is a combination of two commonly known traffic tactics, one offline and the other online. Separately, they can be quite effective when done right. Combined they can be positively lethal.
I start off by selecting the products, or affiliate offers that I would like to promote and write up a report on the general subject, offering some good tips and well researched information. I make sure the content is high quality and delivers on what it says on the cover. The report is written using word, complete with a few links within the text linking to my products and/or affiliate offers. Next I turn the completed word document into a pdf file.
Time now to go get a domain name. I will select a domain name that basically describes what the report it about, making it as short and relevant as possible. I won’t be doing any keyword research before registering the domain name, as I do not intend to be going after any search engine traffic.
Next I generate a basic index.html page, that has very little text on it, other than a short message thanking the visitor for their interest in the free report and asking them to click on the link I provide to download it. Notice, that I am offering the report with no strings attached. no signup required, not even an email address required. Just free to download, no questions asked. By doing this, I will be ensuring I get a very high ratio of downloads to visitors received. Next I upload the pdf file to the location of the url on my download link and I am ready now to start promoting my free report with the offline method.
For the offline method I use tear away flyers. My flyers are always the standard A4 size and printed portrait style. Top half striking colors and bottom half black on white. I want a simple bold one or two line opening statement taking up about the first quarter of the flyer. I will then use the next quarter with a few bullet points or a few lines of bolded text, depending on what I feel appropriate to what I am promoting. The bottom half of the leaflet will be used to make the tear away sections.

Either get perforations completed on your leaflets for the tear away sections if you can get a good deal on the price. Or, just cut up the lines if you have the time. Now go out and get those leaflets posted on as many notice boards as you can. The benefit of the tear away sections on each leaflet is the fact that it gives you lots more opportunities for people to visit your page online and download the report. Think of it this way, if you put up a good leaflet with a free offer like this on most boards, your leaflet is going to just be pulled off and stuffed into someone’s pocket. Every visitor to the board now cannot see your offer. People do not want to stand and take a note of the website they are to visit to get the freebie. They want to just grab and walk away. This is the benefit of the tear away leaflet. They just tear away a small stub instead of taking the entire leaflet.
Very Important: To ensure maximum interest, I always tear away the first couple of sections before posting each leaflet. That immediately lets the first few readers think the offer is being taken up by others. Every section that has been torn away prior to any reader seeing your leaflet is like a testimonial of your offer. Your offer now has a level of trust. A leaflet that has no sections torn off says to the reader that no one is interested. The trust level on your offer is very low at this point until someone finally tears off the first section [If any one ever does].
I know that so many people always end strategies like this with a statement like “just sit back now and go check your stats in a couple of days time”. I always think it is a really stupid thing to say to any marketer. Never sit back and wait on anything. Get up of your a$$ and keep working. Get working on another offer. Get another strategy going. Even the most successful marketers on the planet never sit back and wait for results. They are off chasing the next buck. It takes two minutes to check stats and even less time to check your earnings. That’s the kind of stuff you do when you are having your coffee break.
